Our Animals

More than 30 animals from around the world call the Darien Nature Center home. Our dedicated animal caretaking staff creates habitats and special diets for each species. Many of our animals are nature educators themselves visiting schools and camps around the community.

Animal Sponsorships

Animal sponsorships help us care for and feed our more than 30 resident animals. Honor a loved one in a wonderful way by sponsoring an animal in their name.  All tax-deductible donations directly fund the feeding, shelter, and veterinary care of these beloved and unique creatures.


All animal sponsors receive one-on-one time with the sponsored animal! It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience unlike any other gift.  The recipient’s name will appear proudly on the chosen animal’s enclosure for the duration of the sponsorship – how special
