Olga Sweet is known internationally as an extraordinary oil portraitist of globally influential people in business, government, academia, and the arts and media. A distinctive characteristic of her work is her personal approach to the painter-client relationship.
In recent years, Olga’s passion has also been painting abstract works of environmental damage. She chose the Darien Nature Center to exhibit her paintings of trees beginning September 21, 2023. Olga’s connection to trees is so profound that she created her only self-portrait depicted within a tree. The exhibit will also include a small selection of her portraits of children.
Olga has great hope that our children’s innate connection to the natural world will lead them to be enthusiastic champions for the environment throughout their lives.
Olga’s son attended preschool and summer camps at the Darien Nature Center. His positive experiences at the Center inspired him to become an award-winning youth leader and volunteer for environmental causes, a passion Olga shares.
Articles on Olga’s work have appeared in Palm Beach Illustrated, Greenwich Magazine, New Canaan, Darien + Rowayton Magazine, CT Post Sunday Arts & Style, and WAG. Articles on her work will appear this fall in Hamptons Magazine, Hamptons Social, and Bedford & New Canaan Magazine. Her paintings have been auctioned at prestigious charity events in Greenwich, the Hamptons, Palm Beach, New York City, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
