Cynthia was born and raised in Mexico City. She has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Masters in Humanities Studies. After living in London, Caracas, Boston, and NYC, she settled in Darien with her husband and two kids in 2012. While her kids were in school, she served as co-chair for the Hindley Happening for three years, co-service unit manager for Darien Girl Scouts for three years, and volunteered to teach about environmental issues at Hindley school for two years.

She has always loved the inquisitive minds of children, and teaching kids at the Darien Nature Center is a perfect fit for her. When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading books, walking her dog Bailey around town, and spending time with family and friends.
