Our After School Programs

We host a variety of seasonal after school programs during the year, please see our event calendar page for upcoming events.

Animal Encounters – NEW!

  • Kindergarten-1st grade
  • Wednesdays, Jan. 10 – April 4
  • 13 weeks

Our “Animal Caretakers Club” program, tailored to a younger audience! Children will spend the hour learning about and handling the animals in our Zoo Room. This is a real “hands-on” opportunity for kids who are particularly interested in animal life.

Chopping salads, cleaning habitats and exercising animals are all among the duties of the members of the Animal Caretakers Club. At the end of the session, participants will share what why have learned during a special presentation for friends and family.

  • Grades 2-6

Trail Trekkers – An Outdoor Adventure Program

  • Grades K-3, Tuesdays 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
  • Sept. 19 – Oct. 24 (6 weeks)
  • $180 per session
  • Membership is required

Afternoons will be spent exploring outdoors and having fun in the woods and stream in Cherry Lawn Park. Muddy shoes, grass-stained knees and huge smiles – guaranteed!

October Afterschool Event

Pumpkin Decorating

  • Wednesday, Oct. 25 or Thursday, Oct. 26
  • Ages 2+ (5 and older can be dropped off)
  • $10 per pumpkin
  • Membership is not required

Using natural materials we will decorate pumpkins for Halloween. Let us keep your creation to display at our annual Hoot n’ Howl party (Oct. 29) and you will receive free admission to that event!

A nature discovery program for children with special needs and their families.

Join us for a series of hands-on nature programs for children with special needs and their families. We will gather once a month to explore the natural world using all of their senses. Walks through the woods, indoor games and stories, live animals and crafts are all a part of this fun family program. Space is limited.
